Invoices or Bills which have had credit notes allocated against them which take the balance down to nil, before they have been processed via Recogniser, will never appear in the inbox.
If the balance on the invoice or bill is more than 0 after the credit note(s) have been allocated, then the invoice/bill and corresponding credit note will be presented together in the inbox for you apply relevant release schedules to:
And then both the invoice/bill and the credit note allocated to it, will appear in the schedule:
If you have already reviewed an invoice or bill in Mayday, applied the required release treatment and added it to the schedule, but then later allocate a credit note in your accounting software, the invoice or bill will resurface in the Mayday inbox with the credit note presented below it, and the existing applied release schedules will be retained for reference (but these can be edited):
You will also see an Edited in Xero (or QBO) lozenge which when clicked, details why the invoice has resurfaced in the inbox:
Once you have applied the required treatment to the credit note and you are happy everything is correct with the invoice/bill, simply click the Add to Schedule button and the transaction and the associated credit note will appear in the schedule:
and the credit note can also be found in the History page under the transaction it was allocated to:
You can edit the release schedule applied to credit note lines in the exact same way as you do for invoices or bills. Simply click the edit icon in the schedule, or click the reference in the History page, and you'll be able to edit any schedules from there. See this article for more details
